A Packed July 10 Awaits at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked Event!
Invitations are out for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, 2024! The event will be hosted in Paris as the company plans to make use of this cultural nexus as a place to show off their latest round of devices.
But even before this official invitation though, plenty of leaks and speculation have emerged as to which gadgets get to take center stage during the events. Will it be the successor to the successful and foldable Galaxy Z Fold5? Or is it their latest wearable tech? Let’s meet the (speculated) stars of the event here:
Enter the Samsung Galaxy Ring!
First teased during the previous Unpacked event, the new Galaxy Ring is finally expected to debut this July 10, bringing in the benefits of Samsung’s advanced health technology to a much smaller form factor. As with other smart rings like Oura, the watch should be able to provide health and sleep insights, letting you make better decisions with regards to your overall health.
Additionally, the Galaxy Ring is also rumored to be compatible with Samsung’s SmartThings and Samsung Pay, letting you control compatible devices and make wireless payments with ease, making for an even more convenient way to manage your digital life!
Samsung’s Galaxy Ring is definitely one of the more interesting stars of the event, releasing during a time where the brand’s locked in legal battles with Oura Health; having filed a lawsuit against Oura for its tendency to file patent infringement claims against competitors like Ultrahuman.
It appears we’ll just have to wait and see who emerges the victor in this ongoing legal battle of the smart rings.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6: Now with Galaxy AI?
If the previous years are any indication, Samsung is due to showcase their foldable Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 during Galaxy Unpacked though as before, there’s no official confirmation on this yet. This time though, expectations are high as foldable rivals from Google and OnePlus have also started launching to positive reception, leading to increased competition in the space.
Right now though, all eyes are on the brand’s Galaxy AI to see just what kind of features it’ll be able to use on the unique foldable form factor on offer. And Samsung has acknowledged this in some part, with Samsung’s head of mobile research and development saying that “we will further optimize the Galaxy AI experience for the upcoming foldable devices.”
For now though, we can probably expect minor updates to the chipset (switching from Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to Gen 3), camera improvements, and possibly a more durable build; things all meant to refine the exceptional experience on the existing foldables like the Galaxy Z Flip5. Maybe they’ll play it safe with these two phones after all…if they even appear at all!

Faster Charging for the Galaxy Watch 7!
Finally, a leak from Amazon Canada has shown some new details for the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7. For starters, it will be available in 40mm like the Galaxy Watch 6 but there’s no news about a 44mm model just yet. It’s also expected to come with a new 3nm AP chipset, which theoretically offers better power efficiency compared to the previous model.
To help out with this, the Galaxy Watch 7 is also due to receive a slight bump in charging speed, coming in with 15W over the previous 10W.
Samsung has also promised a more ‘advanced’ heart rate monitor in order to help with its sleep tracking features. It may also come with its own AI companion as part of its monitoring tools, hopefully resulting in better recommendations in terms of routines and exercises to try out.
