Heads up to all mobile gaming enthusiasts out there! Asus has just dropped a teaser for their new, upcoming ROG Phone 8, promising gamers with an improved, power-packed gaming handset for tackling the latest and greatest mobile games!
While more concrete leaks and information are still under wraps for now, we’ve decided to gather the latest rumors and speculations here to give us all an idea of what to expect.
Console-defying capabilities?
While nothing concrete has been leaked about the phone’s capabilities yet, speculators have guessed that the phone will be using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3; the chipset that will be powering high-end models like the Xiaomi 14 and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be coming with its Adreno 750 GPU, promising major improvements to its gaming capability. For one, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 found in the Galaxy S23 or even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the RedMagic 7 coupled with its impressive cooling features.
As it stands, we’re confident that this new gaming phone from Asus should be able to handle anything you throw at it, especially if the rumors about it having anywhere between 16GB to 24 GB of RAM hold true.
Big camera bump
Gaming phones aren’t exactly known for their camera capabilities but we couldn’t help but notice the ROG Phone 8’s camera bump in the render. It’s surprisingly tall, and protrudes a fair bit which could lead to some instabilities when placing it on a desk.
The specs on these cameras remain unknown for now. From what we’re able to tell, the phone will probably come with a triple camera array, most likely consisting of a wide, main camera, an ultrawide, and possibly a macro camera.

Faster, bigger storage across the board
All variants of the ROG Phone 8 are rumored to come with fast UFS 4.0 storage, ranging from 512 GB, all the way up to 1 TB. So while we’re yet to see if the phone offers microSD card support, the phone should provide sufficient space for your current apps, games, and more.
Variants: Pro and Ultimate
Like its predecessor, we might get additional variants to the ROG Phone 8 such as an ROG Phone 8 Pro and an ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, which could offer improvements in battery, cooling, and even display. None of these are confirmed yet however, so we’ll have to wait for further announcements from Asus to see if it follows its predecessors.
