Once sufficient time has passed (around an hour or so), a shield icon should appear, indicating that the charging bypass feature is active, meaning calibration is complete. After that, the 80% limit should kick in as your phone returns to its usual charging behavior.
This isn’t even supposedly exclusive to Google’s Pixel phones even. Some iPhones reportedly do it too, even with their optimized charging turned on. It’s a helpful process which really helps with the phone’s ability to accurately show its current battery health.
