Nintendo eShop and Switch Online finally becoming official in PH!

Kaway-kaway sa mga fellow Ohio Switch gamers diyan!

Anyway, it looks like we no longer have to look up US (or Japan) ZIP codes just to be able to shop for games and DLC online. Along with the official Switch 2 reveal, Nintendo also announced that their eShop and Switch Online service is expanding to more regions, finally including the Philippines.

Officially coming to SEA

With our own local eShop, shopping for Nintendo games and DLC online should be easier, with prices reflecting our own local currency. We might even see potential localized events later on once the service actually launches.

Most of all, it’s probably to also help the new online features like GameChat and GameShare a lot easier, given that they require a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership in order to use.

In addition to the Philippines, other countries in SEA also getting their own service includes Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.

A wide launch estimate

Of course, there’s a bit of a wait time for this to be fully implemented as the functionality appears to be coming with the Switch 2, which might release sometime between June to September at least here in the Philippines.

Quite a long time to wait for us here. In the meantime, I guess we’ll all have to keep searching for those US ZIP codes if we want to play online on our original Nintendo Switch.
