Asus ROG Phone 9 Series Launching Next Month!
A new generation flagship chip demands a new generation of flagship phones and Asus is looking to deliver with their gaming-oriented ROG Phone 9 series! The new phones promise both top-notch gaming performance as well as some mentions of AI in their invite, all set to take full advantage of both the enhanced GPU and NPU coming with the chip.
While no specific numbers have been revealed yet so far, we’ve still gathered some of the sparse information here to get us all hyped. Check it out!
Sleek, Matrix Back Panel
The Asus ROG Phone 9 follows the steps of the well-received ROG Phone 8 when it comes to the design. It retains the similar mix of sleek flagship and aggressive gamer design, with the textured back panel and black finish. And yes, the dot matrix display on the back is still around.
There’s a camera island that houses the phone’s three sensors, and of course, RGB lighting. No details regarding what kind of lenses it uses however. On the sides are the usual AirTriggers for smoother gaming control.
Top-notch gaming with Snapdragon 8 Elite!
We’ve already covered details regarding the Snapdragon 8 Elite as well as the performance gains it’s promising before. And given that high-end gaming is probably one aspect where these performance gains are noticeable, it’s not surprising that the next ROG phone is launching for this one.
Though it’s not nearly as exhaustive as PC and console ports, real-time raytracing has been bumped up by 35% on games that support the feature. And while details regarding the phone’s hardware is still quite scarce, we’re confident that this will be backed by top-of-the-line cooling and fast refresh rate displays as with their previous ROG phones.
Beyond just the performance though, it’s also interesting to see how the ROG Phone 9 will handle battery life and charging.
