Budget-Friendly Samsung Galaxy Watch FE Announced!

Samsung’s bringing their signature, wearable style and advanced health tracking features in the form of the more affordable Samsung Galaxy Watch FE! At approximately PHP 11,600 based on the announced US pricing, at least for the Bluetooth-only version.

But with that said, what are the compromises as opposed to getting the more premium options? Well, let’s check out the official details regarding this watch here:

Familiar Style, New-ish Colors

The new Galaxy Watch FE follows a similar design language as the brand’s other wearables, such as the older Samsung Galaxy Watch 5. It comes in at a 40mm size, with a decent 1.2-inch, 396 x 396p Super AMOLED display that’s looking quite bright, even when walking or exercising on a sunnier day. For protection, the watch will feature ‘Sapphire Crystal Glass’, which is highly resistant against scratches.

As far as colors go, the watch comes in Black, Pink Gold, and Silver, from the metal body as well as their watch band. It retains a similar ‘one-click’ system that makes it easy to swap the bands, and there’s even alternative bands with either blue or orange stitching in case you get tired with the stock colors.

Working Towards a Much Healthier You!

Despite the more affordable price point, the Galaxy Watch FE is still equipped with some of the brand’s top-of-the-line healthcare tech such as its BioActive Sensor, which should be crucial in getting personalized feedback from this wearable.

For starters, the Watch can monitor your sleep patterns in order to create a suggested regimen in order to help you get the most out of your nap time. People worried about their heart health will also enjoy HR Alert, which helps detect abnormally high or low heart rates. On top of this, the watch’s Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) can give you a heads up in case it detects signs of atrial fibrillation (Afib) or any rapid heart rhythms.

As for fitness, the Watch can also help facilitate and track more than 100 different workouts. Advanced running analysis for instance, can even offer some suggestions to help you be more efficient while avoiding serious injuries as you exercise. Additionally, body composition scans your entire body in order to give you a comprehensive look at your fitness.

These are just some of the things the Watch will be capable of. Overall, it’s looking like a very compelling package, especially at its planned price point.

A New Addition to the Galaxy Ecosystem

As with all of its smart wearables, the new Galaxy Watch FE works its best when you pair them with other existing Samsung devices, such as the Galaxy S24! Working hand-in-hand with the watch, you can now access Find My Phone to help find your device in case you misplace it. Additionally, you can use Camera Controller to control your smartphone cameras for some hands-free shooting.

Lastly, the Galaxy Watch FE will also support Samsung Wallet, allowing you to pay for your purchases and check out all of your ID cards right on your wrist!

Release Date and Pricing:

The entire announcement is quite surprising as most Samsung’s wearables are announced during their “Unpacked” event, which is planned next month in Paris. Our guess is that it’s announced this month as to not conflict with the upcoming Galaxy Ring or a possible new Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra.

For now, the Bluetooth version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE will be released on June 24th in the US first, followed by an LTE-capable version sometime this year. As for the Philippines, we’ll keep you updated when we finally get this new budget model in stock so stay tuned!
