Buyer Beware! Infinix Warns Public About Fake Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G

Heads up, especially for serious mobile gamers. Infinix has recently issued an advisory warning people about fake Infinix GT 20 Pro models circulating around different marketplaces. In their official Facebook post the brand has shown off an example of the counterfeit phone, highlighting a number of differences between it and the genuine article.

Let’s take a look at the subtle differences Infinix highlights between the two models here:

Packaging Differences

In addition to the different colors used, the official Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G also has the Mobile Legends logo as part of their partnership. You can also see that the counterfeit product uses a different brand name called Komi though the green they use is similar to the ones Infinix uses in some of their other product lines.

Inside the Box

Opening the box also reveals a number of differences. For example, the actual Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G has some custom design work on the black cardboard sleeves for the phone and its accessories. The counterfeit phone only has a generic white box.

Lack of Company Logos

The original Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G also comes with the brand’s name printed around the phone, particularly near the bottom.

Performance Differences

While we don’t have any of the counterfeit Komi GT 20 Pro 5G models here in the store (all of our smartphones are authentic items), we did notice that the fake phone advertises itself as having a “Helio G77” chipset. The authentic Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 8200 Ultimate, helping it achieve its great performance when playing even the best mobile games!

Ultimately, Infinix closes off their warning by reminding people to only buy from reputable sellers both online and offline. Sure, some of these counterfeit phones may be able to undercut the original hardware thanks to their lower prices but you often have no guarantees on quality and peace of mind in the long run.

And you don’t even need to spend that much to get an original item. For instance, we’ve currently got a great deal on an authentic Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G here, all ready to go for all your gaming needs!
