New iPad Air Launching with M3!

Apple’s popular, compact iPad Air could be due for an upgrade soon. Well-known leaker Evan Blass has teased the existence of new iPad Air models, coming sometime this 2025. Just in time too for anybody looking to upgrade their tablets for a big performance boost.

If you ask us though, this might all depend on what kind of iPad you already have for your day-to-day use.

M3 Silicon in 2025?

For instance, these new iPad Air models will reportedly use the older M3 chipset; an odd choice considering the new Macbook Pro, iMac, and even Mac Mini will be releasing with the much newer M4 silicon.

So if you’re already using an iPad Air with an M2 chipset, you might not necessarily need to upgrade to the M3 right now. It depends on what you use your iPad for. If you’re somehow able to really stretch the M2’s capabilities then a jump to M3 may give you a bit more headroom for your tasks and apps.

For more casual users though, the M2 iPad Air should still be very, very fast for most workloads so you may not need to spring for this upcoming model right away, especially if you can get the M2 iPad Air for a great price.

Other upgrades currently unknown

Like last time, the 2025 iPad Air will reportedly come with an 11-inch or 13-inch display. Apart from this though, we don’t have any other information regarding bezels, refresh rates, or even cameras. It won’t be too surprising if Apple only changes up the chipset inside these new tablets, keeping everything the same as its predecessor.
