Galaxy Watch 7: A Familiar Style

Compared to its much bigger “Ultra” sibling, the Galaxy Watch 7’s design language opts for the familiar design language of the Galaxy Watch 6. You get the same circular watch face, a similar-sized AMOLED display, and even the button placements on the right side of the body.

Instead, the Galaxy Watch 7 opts to do most of its upgrades “under the hood”. For starters, it now has the faster Exynos W1000 chipset, a new BioActive health sensor, and an upgraded GPS. Oh, and it’s also doubled the storage space, coming with 32GB.

And as expected, Samsung’s banking on Galaxy AI in order to elevate their latest wearable. For starters, there’s the ‘Suggested Replies’ feature, helping you make on-the-go responses based on patterns the AI picked up from how you respond to your messages.

There’s also Sleep Apnea detection when you use the Galaxy Watch 7 with a Galaxy smartphone. (The Galaxy Watch 7 is FDA-authorized for this feature) The AI can also serve up analytics like an “Energy Score” and “Sleep Score”, allowing a degree of gamification as well as an easy way to see your health statistics.

You can get the Galaxy Watch in both 44mm and 40mm sizes, as well as Green and Silver colorways. And yes, you can get it with just Bluetooth connectivity or one that comes with both Bluetooth and LTE.

Unlike the Galaxy Watch 7 though, the Galaxy Buds3 has opted to go with a different look from the previous Galaxy Buds2. It’s now an open-style earbud with a long stem, making it quite similar to Apple’s own AirPods even. Samsung does mention that this makes its touch controls a lot more reliable and easier to access.

There’s an Adaptive EQ feature built-in, allowing the Buds3 to use both its internal and external microphones to adjust how your media sounds in real-time (yes, similar to what Apple has done before). And while its open-style design means finding the right fit is going to be a bit harder, you do get Active Noise Cancellation to help out.

It’s got Bluetooth 5.4 as well as Samsung’s Seamless Codec (SSC UHQ), promising very good audio quality at least on supported Galaxy devices. Unfortunately, it’s not available when using it with other Android phone brands, and neither are its Galaxy AI features.

For example, the earbuds can be used with the Interpreter app’s ‘Conversation Mode’, allowing you to translate spoken words used during a call. Alternatively, you can get a Listening Mode that can help translate any videos, lectures, or media to a language of your choice. And yes, you can also use its Voice Command feature, in case you want to control your playback without using its touch controls.
