Xiaomi 14: All-in on mobile photography
When it comes to mobile photography, there’s plenty of things to be excited about with the Xiaomi 14! As the brand’s base flagship, Xiaomi’s decided to really leverage their partnership with camera hardware brand Leica in order to deliver a camera array that’s versatile enough to capture any moment you find around you.
For starters, it’s got an impressive 50MP triple-camera array. By that we mean, three 50MP lenses, not just for the main camera. In addition to its main snapper, you get a 50MP telephoto capable of up to 3.2x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide for those sweeping land and cityscapes.
This is definitely a phone you’ll want to take along and whip out to capture those amazing yet fleeting moments of say, a summer trip. While it’s no iPhone 12 Mini in terms of size, we found it compact enough to just slide into your pockets and use easily, if you just want a capable snapper without needing to tweak with settings as much.
Xiaomi Watch S3 and Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro
Along with their new phones, Xiaomi also announced new entries in their smartwatch catalog, namely the Xiaomi Watch S3 and the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro. Starting with the Xiaomi Watch S3, the watch includes plenty of tracking capabilities; which have been surprisingly accurate for a more budget-oriented wearable.
It’s highly customizable as well. In addition to changing the strap and watch face you see on its circular AMOLED display, you even get the option to swap out its bezels. Depending on how you mix and match the device, you might be able to create an entirely different wearable. It’s also rated for 5ATM for water resistance so don’t be afraid to jump in the water with it.
It’s the same story with the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro; only this one comes in a more sportier, unisex design at a more budget-oriented price. Compared to its predecessor, it’s boasting a bigger, brighter AMOLED display, better battery life, and updated widgets.
What most people will get this for though, in our opinion, is the wide range of customizations you can do when it comes to its straps, thanks to its quick-release design. So whether you fancy a premium leather feel, a TPU strap (which is included), or a metal one, you should be able to easily switch up your style on the fly!
Do note that most of the strap options for both watches are sold separately from the main package.

Infinix Note 40 Lineup: Blazing Fast Charging!
We’re also getting the Infinix Note 40 series in the shop these coming months, specifically the Infinix Note 40 Pro and Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G. Both phones pack features that are clear upgrades for anyone coming from an older Infinix Note smartphone.
Fast charging appears to be the name of the game with the Infinix Note 40, with a new “Cheetah X1” power management chip helping facilitate these speeds while also managing thermals. Combined, Infinix is promising to deliver not just fast charging speeds; the phones will supposedly last longer as well before needing to plug into a wall.
Of course, hardware has received a big spec bump too. Both phones will come with AMOLED screens, MediaTek chipsets (Helio G99 Ultimate for the Note 40; Dimensity 7020 for the Pro+ 5G), and 108MP main cameras. Both phones will also come with sizable RAM and storage and the former can be expanded via Infinix’s extended RAM feature too in case you do need more headroom while multitasking.
Redmi Note 13 Lineup:
Lastly, we have the midrange Redmi Note 13 lineup, coming with a whopping five new models. This is a big increase over the previous Redmi Note 12 reveal event last year, with its initial three phones. On one hand, customers get a wide selection to choose from. On the other hand, it can be daunting to find which phone suits you best thanks to all these choices. Buckle up though, cause we'll be rounding out their differences real quick:
To start though, all phones come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display running at 120Hz for a smooth experience. On the back, materials and designs do differ but all of them do come with a triple camera array consisting of a main shooter, an ultrawide, and a macro camera. The base Redmi Note 13 models sport 108MP main shooters, while the Pro models go up to a whopping 200MP resolution!
In terms of performance, the 4G Redmi Note 13 is coming with a much older Snapdragon 685, while the 5G version is equipped with a Dimensity 6080 5G processor. The Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G on the other hand, is coming with a Helio G99 Ultra form MediaTek.
Performance is way higher on the remaining Pro smartphones. The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, which is capable of pulling off some impressive numbers at the midrange segment. As for the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G comes with a Dimensity 7200-Ultra.
That’s only scratching the surface of course. We’re definitely going to take a closer look at these differences a lot more closely once we get these models in stock. In the meantime, make sure to tune in to catch the latest tech news and releases here at your most trusted online gadget store!
