Celebrate 30 Years of PlayStation with Limited Edition PS5 and PS5 Pro!
Hard to believe that it’s been 30 years since the release of the original Sony PlayStation. As part of their milestone celebration, Sony is releasing a limited edition design for PS5 and upcoming PS5 Pro based on the original PlayStation that started it all.
Named as their PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection, the limited edition design sees these new consoles arrive in this classic gray color scheme with the colorful PlayStation logo from 1994.
30th Anniversary Collection: What’s included?
First off, this is just an alternate color variant for the existing PS5 and upcoming PS5 Pro; they should perform the same as these non-anniversary edition consoles. Neither package also has a disc drive; the standard PS5 package is digital-only, but they do come with a matching disc drive cover that you can use with the PS5 disc drive you can get separately.
The digital PS5 bundle comes with the limited color edition version of the console with 1TB of SSD storage and of course, a DualSense Wireless Controller done in the same matching style.
The PS5 Pro package on the other hand, comes with the limited color console but with 2TB of SSD storage as well as Wi-Fi 7 for territories that already support this standard. It comes not just with the matching DualSense Wireless Controller, a matching DualSense Edge Wireless Controller, a DualSense Charging Station, and even a Vertical Stand.
Both packages will also come with the following collector’s items included:
• Original PlayStation controller-style cable connector housing
• Special PlayStation-shaped cable ties
• PlayStation Paperclip
• Limited Edition PlayStation Poster (1 of 30 Possible Designs)
Other Standalone Items:
In addition to these full console bundles, Sony’s also offering the limited color edition DualSense Wireless Controller and PlayStation Portal as a standalone purchase! Very helpful if you wish to have some of that nostalgic look without shelling for a new console altogether.

Limited Release Numbers
The PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection will be released to select territories on November 21, 2024. It’s also a limited edition release with only 12,300 units being made available; a number meant to match the anniversary date of December 3 (12/3).
Pre-orders for the PS5 Pro edition will start on September 26 over on PlayStation’s official website, with the Digital Edition following soon on October 10. We’ll have to wait for further news to see if these would come to the Philippines however.
