Meet the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge: Powered by Snapdragon
It’s the age of the AI PC! As one of the first Windows on ARM laptops coming to market with the much hyped Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X processors, Samsung’s Galaxy Book4 Edge is now available for pre-order at official sources, coming in both a 14-inch and 16-inch variant, not unlike the Macbook Pro.
Regardless of which you choose though, both sizes are built with the same level of quality you can expect from Samsung’s line of Galaxy Books, incorporating gorgeous AMOLED displays, slim and lightweight body, and plenty of ports for your needs.
“Fastest, most powerful Snapdragon in a laptop”
Early benchmarks of the Snapdragon X Elite chips supposedly confirm much of the hype regarding its incredible performance and battery efficiency. In a commissioned review from third-party Signal65, the Snapdragon X Elite chips were able to go head-to-head and even beat its Intel Meteor Lake and Apple M3 rivals in temperatures, scores, and battery life.
It also supposedly dominates AI workloads, given its 45 teraflops NPU; all without the help of the laptop’s CPU and GPU.
As such, there’s plenty to be hyped with the Galaxy Book4 Edge. Three variants are currently up for order: a 14-inch and 16-inch version with a Snapdragon X Elite processor capable of boosting up to 4.0 GHz. Then there’s the upper end 16-inch model, with a more powerful processor capable of boosting up to 4.2 GHz.
According to Samsung’s official press release, all models will cap out at 16GB of RAM; the bare minimum for a Copilot+ PC. Additionally, Samsung’s also bundling its own Galaxy AI as a suite of tools in this Galaxy Book, hopefully working well with the AI found on its popular Galaxy S24.
Gorgeous Dynamic AMOLED and Slim and Lightweight Design
Samsung makes some of the best displays on the market and the new Galaxy Book4 Edge is no different. You get a very nice, 3K Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a touchscreen, making it perfect for your precise creative work. The display is sufficiently colorful, with up to 120% DCI-P3 color volume, and even reaches refresh rates of up to 120Hz.
Design-wise, it’s still a slim and lightweight laptop, coming up to just 10.9 to 12.3 mm high when fully closed. It weighs just 1,542g for the 14-inch variant, and 1,179g for the 16-inch models, making it quite the lightweight device for traveling around with.
Still, it doesn’t appear like you can fold it up into a tablet form like the brand’s own Galaxy Book4 Pro 360, which would have made using the touchscreen a lot easier in our opinion.
