Time to have Nothing

What do Youtube creative Casey Neistat, Reddit CEO and Co-founder Steve Huffman, Twitch Co-founder Kevin Lin have in common? They’re all investors in Nothing, the latest company to throw in their name to the phone game.

The highly anticipated Nothing phone is out and the whole shape and feel is familiar but its signature glyphs will really steal your attention. But, is it all just about looks? Let's rundown the Nothing phone's features because it might be the Android gamechanger you’ve been looking for.

For a flagship phone, Nothing phone 1 is a bit modest in terms of hardware. it's not the newest and the latest in terms of its processor, but it's no slacker either. The Snapdragon™ 778G+ chip is still up there in terms of performance and the Adreno 642L GPU is a statement to the Nothing phone’s graphic prowess.

Speaking of graphics, you’ll see everything the Nothing phone has to offer through the 6.55 inch OLED display with up to 120Hz adaptive screen refresh rate. 240Hz touch sampling rate

protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Nothing phone 1’s camera is a heavy hitter. In its price range, the 50 MP Main camera is one of the few with Optical Image Stabilization, meaning hardware-based stabilization. The f1.88 aperture size is great for low light situations and can be augmented with night mode and extreme night mode among many great mode choices. The other lens of the dual rear camera setup is a 50MP ultrawide with 114 degree field of view (FOV). For reference, a usual action camera has 120 degree FOV.

Meanwhile, The Nothing Phone 1’s selfie camera sits at 16MP with capability for 1080p video recording at 30 fps. We won’t be surprised if you see films shot with the Nothing phone soon. OIS and EIS image stabilization will make recording video with the main camera at 4K and Full HD smooth as silk.

cue your sad noises as the package doesn’t include a charging brick. But you can take consolation that it's no doubt part of Nothing’s mission to be carbon neutral.  Power up the 4500mAh battery to full in 70 minutes with the 33W PD3.0 USB Type-C wired charging. You can also go wireless with the 15W Qi charging.

Nothing OS 1.1.3 is coming soon with promises better battery optimization, improved camera performance, and more. There’s no news yet for android 13 but we’re not too worried about that. Nothing promises 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security patches every 2 months.

It's time to have Nothing in your pocket.
